The word caviar means processed, salted roe of certain varieties of fish. Most commonly it is the eggs or roe obtained from the female sturgeon that make up caviar. The sturgeon is really a primitive, ?fossil? fish species which can be present in coastal waters, rivers and lakes of the Northern Hemisphere. Having passed the half century mark some time ago (there… have you been happy now?)
